Design, Simplified: Mondän & Co. Launches ‘Design on Demand’ Just in Time for the Holidays”

The holiday season is here, and for many, that means transforming their homes into festive sanctuaries without breaking the bank or losing hours to decision fatigue. Jan Odesanya, Founder and Principal Interior Designer of Mondän & Co. Interiors, believes everyone deserves a beautiful home. Yet traditional design often focuses on elite, exclusive experiences that often exclude those on tighter budgets. Mondän & Co. is here to change that with the launch of Design on Demand, an app, and its revolutionary approach to interior design.

An App Revolutionizing Home Design

Odesanya’s background as a former tech professional with 15 years of experience changed when she transitioned to full-time interior design to address ongoing concerns in the industry. The allure and appeal of high-end designs speak for themselves, yet many homeowners can’t justify thousands of dollars on a new living room. That’s where Design on Demand comes in. Some key features include:

  • Ready-to-Go Designs: Pre-curated rooms for various styles and budgets created by real interior designers.
  • Shoppable Links: Seamless purchasing directly from retailers.
  • Immersive 3D Previews: Visualize your dream space before committing.
  • Custom Add-ons: Affordable customization options to fit individual spaces and preferences.
  • Live Chat Support: Instant access to professional advice—a feature Odesanya believes sets the app apart from competitors.

Many interior design apps lack time-sensitive support, like a live chat. They often rely on inaccurate AI renderings to save cost and maximize profit, which produces another slew of user issues. Additionally, purchasing items inspired by these designs isn’t built into these apps, adding another time-consuming element to the process.

Truly comparable interior design apps like Spoak.io and Havenly lack these AI-related issues, yet are cost-prohibitive. The free tiers for these apps don’t offer one-on-one support with actual interior designers. Shopping links and suggested brands emphasize high-end goods. If you’re DIYing your home decor—and you’re not doing it yourself because you love —the last thing you want is the additional heavy-lifting of finding affordable pieces, too.

Holiday Magic with Mondän

During this time of year, many are all about Deals and Steals. Whether purchasing things for your household or stocking up on gifts for the Christmas season, everyone wants to cash in on some affordable holiday magic. Mondän & Co‘s app release aligns with Black Friday to maximize accessibility and savings. What renter or homeowner wouldn’t love a redesigned living room or bedroom as a gift?

The Holiday Décor Collection allows for quick and stylish refreshes for holiday gatherings. It’s Ideal for hosting family and friends in spaces that sparkle with seasonal charm. The app’s custom add-on options allow homemakers to infuse festive flair without needing large-scale redesigns.

Why It Matters: Transforming Homes and Lives

The artistry and mastery of luxury interior design shouldn’t be overlooked. It sets the standard for many DIY home decorators and affordable brands. Yet many brands thrive on exclusivity and elitism, diminishing their distinction and appeal to the everyday lover of beautiful things. Well-made things have an obvious, undeniable value, and that artisanal touch can’t be faked.

The overlap between good design and affordable expertise exists with Design on Demand. This app commodifies a specialty service, disrupting assumptions about who deserves an aesthetically pleasing home. As Odesanya puts it,

“…Interior design is everybody’s right. It’s not the elites; it’s not the rich; it’s not any of those things.”

With trends like quiet luxury coming to the forefront of fashion and decor, focusing only on the 1% of spenders is tone-deaf. The last four years impacted everyone across every single demographic globally. Even luxury spending is finally suffering from the various economic slowdowns many other industries have faced.

Claudia D’Arpizio and Federica Levato, Senior Partners at Bain & Company and authors of the Bain-Altagamma Luxury Goods Worldwide Market Study, revealed,

“The high-quality design sector…remains under pressure from macroeconomic challenges. High-end projects for top-tier clientele show stronger traction, but the traditional multi-brand retail channel is grappling with sluggish consumer traffic and difficulties adapting to shifting client preferences.”

Although the big spenders define the ebb and flow of trends in any market, especially luxury goods, the middle class holds more collective influence and purchasing power. Based on recent economic developments, designers like Odesanya recognize the benefit of meeting clients where their wants and needs intersect instead of cashing in on millennial money dysmorphia.

D’Arpizio and Levato add,

“Demand is strong for upper-end luxury contracts, particularly in residential, hospitality, and marine projects emphasizing exclusivity and hyper-customization, the entry-to-luxury segment and B2C-focused channels face lower growth. Multi-brand channels are particularly strained, facing decreased foot traffic and challenges in addressing the expectations of younger, experience-driven consumers, necessitating brand repositioning and innovative engagement strategies.”

Mondän & Co. aims to empower homeowners with accessible, high-quality design. They’re redefining luxury by merging style with convenience. By creating spaces that enhance the moments we cherish, including the upcoming holiday season, design finally appeals to more than those with truly disposable income. With complete room designs starting at $499, there’s a focus on affordability without compromising quality—no room design exceeds $20K in total furnishing costs.

Beyond The Holidays: More Magic to Come

With Design on Demand poised to disrupt the industry, even more gifts are in store for the budget-conscious homemaker. This app is disrupting traditional, classist design models to make beautiful spaces achievable for more people. As Mondän & Co. grows, expect a deeper dive into Jan Odesanya’s journey.
