So, my 2024 started with a layoff. The same week, my editor hooked me up with a dream job — or so I thought. Six months later, I was laid off again due to several financial and management issues at what turned out to be a very toxic work environment! Until last weekend, I was up to my neck in wedding planning, too!
Since my second layoff, I’ve found plenty of 👻 job posts, rejections, and more. I’ve been hit up left and right to try out and review products, but not all these are relevant or useful for my new household! I turn down items I can’t write about, as writing for free won’t pay my bills. And it feels unethical to readers and merchants alike to review an item I can’t truly use.
